Economy
Agriculture was the primary economic activity in the Arab homeland. The most important food crops were wheat, barley, rice, maize, dates and millet. These were largely consumed within the region, while cotton, sugarcane, sugar beets and sesame are exported as cash crops. Also Arabs were the powers of the Mediterranean trade and used this to gain wealth as well as spread the word of Islam and Allah. Another way that the Arabs gained money was through war and conquering. Then, the people who lost would stay there and be taxed if they did not follow the Islam religion. Other ways that Arabs gained lots of wealth was through knowledge and their significant advancements in subjects like math, astronomy, science, and medicine. Through these simple ideas, the Arabic world drastically changed not only their own economy and lives, but the economy and lives of other civilizations.
