Map and Important Cities

Picture
The Important cities of Islam were most commonly the cities in major trade routes because trading was a big part of the Arab economy. Some important cities that are well known and went through trade routes are Tripoli, Cordoba, Damascus, and Cairo. Some cities that are important due to religious reasons are Mecca and Medina. Mecca was very important because this is where Prophet Muhammad truly grew the Islamic religion. Medina was important because it held the second most religious mosque other than the one in Mecca and it was where Muhammad died and was buried.
